Bourbon Dishes

Decadent Foods for Bourbon Lovers!

Taste testing foods at favorite bars & resturants is one thing…sharing their recipes or coming up with our own verison so you can learn how to make it from home…that sounds amazing!

Whether you are cooking or mixing a cocktail – the most common question is what kind of bourbon to use? Not really such a mystery after all since the most expensive brands are best used for our special occasions and served neat or with ice. That leaves the more commonly known brands that are less expense to use for cooking or in a mixed drink.

That still leaves quite a variety of whiskeys or bourbons to choose from. If you think about it, choosing a bourbon that has nutty earthy tone to it would enhance meats, vegetables, and other hearty dishes. While a sweeter bourbon or whiskey would complement savory baked dishes and sweet desserts.

Mixed drinks have plenty of added flavors and sweetness on their own, so adding in a heavy bourbon may overwhelm it, whereas a lighter version may enhance the flavor. I’ll go into that more later.

In the end it is your imagination and palate to explore new delights!

I’ll be adding recipes and how-to’s soon, so please stop back!
